Green Uranium Depression Luncheon Plates

When Grandma got sick, she moved in with us, which meant all of her stuff came, too. It wasn't until after she passed that Mom unboxed a lot of her belongings. She was surprised to find these luncheon plates, because she had never seen them before.

They stood elegantly on her china hutch for the next 30 years, with Mom never realizing exactly what she had. But now we know.

These are uranium depression glass plates by Hocking Glass, made in the early 1930's. They boast the graceful Dancing Girl pattern, which is also known as the Cameo or Ballerina pattern. You see them here under ultraviolet light, which makes them flouresce a brilliant green. Stunningly beautiful pieces.

8" in diameter. Set of two plates.
